Valentina Gonzalez is a former teacher with over 25 years of experience in education. She has worked as a classroom teacher, district facilitator for English learners, professional development specialist for teachers of multilingual learners, and independent educational consultant. Her work has focused on literacy, culture, and language. Valentina is the co-author of Reading & Writing with English Learners: A Framework for K-5 and the children’s picture book Krofne with Baba. Her work has also been published in journals and professional publications such as Edutopia, MiddleWeb, TEPSA, Ed Week, and School Library Journal.
Valentina Gonzalez’s passion and love for education are widely known and shine through in her presentations and her writing. Her personal experience as an immigrant from Yugoslavia and a language learner fuels her desire to advocate for English learners and support teachers with the best research-based teaching methods.
Valentina is a passionate advocate for multilingual learners and their families. She believes that all students deserve access to a high-quality education, regardless of their language background. She is committed to helping teachers create inclusive and supportive learning environments for all students.
